Clutch

A Clutch is a mechanical device that connects and disconnects the engine from a manual transmission, allowing the driver to change gears and control the power transmitted to the wheels.
A Clutch is important because it allows the driver to change gears and control the power transmitted to the wheels.
The Clutch is located between the engine and the transmission, typically on the driver’s side of the engine compartment.
When the Clutch pedal is depressed, the Clutch disc is separated from the engine’s flywheel, allowing the engine to continue running without transmitting power to the wheels. When the Clutch pedal is released, the Clutch disc is re-engaged with the flywheel, and power is transmitted from the engine to the transmission and then to the wheels.
